Unite, brothers and sisters, unite

Wherever you meet with whoever you find

Spread the love, don’t give it away

Speak with kindness, don’t be afraid

And do not let yourself forget

Only united shall we walk ahead!

All the lines of separation that exist in this world, all the divisions and barriers, intolerance and hate have come to define us all. All people on this Earth today identify by a few main lines of division, Nationality, social status-rich, poor or in the middle, ‘race’- black, white, yellow, religion-Christian, Jewish, Muslim or Buddhist and so on but all forget the most important first thing that we all must define with and unite around- that we are all first human beings. All the others follow this first and most important one, where you are from and what you believe in comes after- you are human first. However, nobody talks about that, nobody repeats that, no one teaches the children that they are not just part of a separate country or nation but part of humankind. No one repeats that and this is why we have forgotten it and few people truly know this today.

Despite the fact that we have proven that we are coming from Africa and we have all begun our journey from one small group of people that left the territory of today’s Ethiopia and populated the world which we are today, we still do no stand together. Despite the fact that we have proven that race is a biologically meaningless term and there is no such thing as race but the human race, we still see colour as a scar and those wearing it as less human. It was proven that all human beings on this Earth today are connected and are distant relatives- we are all cousins. Yet we still look at those outside our own country and we see foreigners, see people that seemingly have nothing to do with us. But we are wrong! And this can no longer be this way.

Why are so blind for all the things that unite us and still look at those that we believe so strongly, and yet in vain, that separate us? What about all the similarities of peoples around the globe, despite their different languages, we are all bind by a love for art, music, traditions, nature, celebrations even? We all feel the same pain, feel the same frustration and fear, yet burn with the same love, the same desire for peace and happiness and the same honest and warm smiles all around this planet.

We finally live in a world where we can see each other and hear each other every day from all the corners of the Earth. For the first time in history we can know about the other places where human beings live and the pains they are suffering at the moment they are happening. We are beginning to live together more and more in this world where people from all around gather, meet, talk, dance, laugh, make music and play sport together. This is the first and most crucial step that will decide out fate as species- will we learn to live together?

Today humanity is facing the greatest problems it has encountered in its history and for the first time it has the tools and the power to solve them and create a brighter future for the generations to come. Today we realize more and more and our lives depend so much on one another, that every aspect of our lives is dependent on some other place and peoples on Earth that we cannot help but start realizing the most important truth that we need to step ahead- that the destruction of your so called enemy is in fact the destruction of yourself, the destruction of your neighbours is the destruction of yourself. We need to realize that the only way we can solve the problems facing us is by unification of the whole human family, nothing less than every human being breathing on this Earth must be included if we want to create a sustainable, peaceful and full of people free to find themselves, to have families and to live in happiness.

Every human being  alive today is facing a choice. The choice that we must make is very simple, not an easy one for many because of old beliefs and prejudices, but a very simple yet again. The task is for every human being in every way possible in every place and corner of this globe to burn and remove divisions between humans, to unite and try to understand all, to feel the pain and compassion for all and to try to understand that he or she is one with all. Each and every human faces the choice,- to take up the mission or to give it away. And for this mission we need all, we need every soul. Our mission is human unity! One home, one family, one love!

Love and learn

And the divisions burn

We don’t turn and run

We confront their gun

And with a smile say

We are not gonna fade away

Our love is here to stay

And for you all we shall pray

Till the day you see the light

The day you stop the fight

The day when all shall be bright

When human unity stands with all its might!
